Mr. Beach, in this country that we love, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect yours, but strongly disagree. Facts are facts, and are not an opinion. With your logic, all public and private property can be designated a "gun free zone," and therefore the Second Amendment is moot.
Please note that most incidents occur in public "gun free zones." Private property owners and private businesses do have the right to deny guns on their property and create a "gun free zone." The downside is they assume legal responsibility for their guest/patrons safety. (Note, I am not a lawyer, and this is just my personal observation.)
Gun free notices were everywhere a couple of years ago in Arizona, but they were taken down because insurance companies would not cover the liability and legal jeopardy entailed by such a posting. I sure don't see any such postings in Wyoming.
Carrying a gun is a choice protected by the Second Amendment. I refer to the recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Bruen Case available online at supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf/20-843_7j80.pdf. I suggest that anyone interested in this Supreme Court case take the time to read this interesting case. Most people just rely on the media and their interpretation of court rulings. Just read it yourself to see what it really says. This is not an emotional issue, it is the facts, whether you agree with them or not.
If you or I decide to bear arms or not, it is our own personal decision and a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
P.S. The Supreme Court did dismiss the "a well regulated militia" argument you put forth. Again, please read the court decision I listed above.
