Babs, you missed the point. Some people don’t believe in God (you and I do believe), but yet still mock and deny Him, so I gave some examples for readers to consider.
Example; no one says Allah or Muhammed “darn it.” It’s always God “darn it.” Regarding Allah being the same as Adonai (Bible vs. Quran), Allah has no son or children and is their (Muslims') Master, not their Father, whereas Christians' God has His son, Jesus, we’re His children and He’s our Father.
So, if they are the same “God,” then why the differences? Check more sources. Muslims believes that Jesus is a prophet, while Christianity believes Him to be the second person of the Holy Trinity, thus divine and equal to God Himself.
The point is, when taking God’s name in vain, it’s not Allah or Muhammad “darn it,” but God “darn it;” it’s not Muhammad whatever, it’s Jesus H. or Jesus “F” Christ. Neither Allah nor Muhammad are mocked as is the Christian God – Yahweh/Adonai.
Muhammad’s daughter, Fatima, is never mocked, while Mary and Jesus are mocked. There’s a book, “Mary Wept over the Feet of Jesus,” wherein, Mary, Jesus’s mother, is portrayed as a prostitute. That’s indeed mockery and blasphemy. No one would dare do that to Allah, Muhammed or his daughter, Fatima.
For whatever reason, mocking any biblical character seems to be just fine. I don’t blame God for anything, but many in our culture blame God for various misfortunes, even though they might not believe in Him; I was defending Him, not attacking Him.
Regarding Satan, he’s never blamed for anything by our secular culture. As before, you misinterpreted my letter; Christian Bible characters are those who are mocked vs. other religious characters.
I see BCE and CE as secular attempts at sanitizing God from our culture vs. giving Him credit, as the “Common Era” is that of Before and After Christ. Was it changed because some scholars didn’t like the reference to Christ? Why not leave it as BC and AD? I’m glad you love Adonai, as do I.
