According to a Facebook release from Albany County Emergency Management and Homeland Security at 11 a.m. Thursday, the grass fire located south of Wyoming Highway 230 near Mason Lane and Lewis Road southwest of Laramie has burned about 100 acres along the Laramie River because of high winds and dry conditions. The fire flared back to life Wednesday after originally igniting last weekend. Albany County fire resources were on scene with 18 personnel and six apparatuses with additional resources being brought in to assist in the firefighting efforts, according to the release. At that time, the fire was approximately 50% contained. Emergency management personnel requests the public avoid the area to give responders more optimal areas to perform their work.
