Dia de los Muertos was chosen for this year, according to the school’s social worker, Ada Mushati. The entire month of October was dedicated to teaching students about the traditions of Dia de los Muertos and what those traditions mean. Students made marigolds in library and brought in photos of their own loved ones to put on the altar. Every class was given the opportunity to see the altar and parents were given the same opportunity during the school’s parent/teacher conferences.
