Laramie First United Methodist Church took down its large chapel space earlier this week as shown on Monday, March 18, 2024. The church has been a staple in the community for nearly 154 years. The iconic A-frame architecture of the chapel was part Laramie's skyline since the early 1960’s. According to a Facebook post by the church, in March 2019, the congregation decided it was time to retire the old structure as heating and lighting became issues. Demolition began in early March for the once-towering building. Worship services are now being in the north end of the main building.
