Sending out the ballots

More than 6,000 absentee ballots were loaded in an Albany County vehicle Friday morning en route to the Laramie Post Office. State statute requires the mailing of absentee and UOCAVA (Uniformed & Overseas Citizen Absentee Voting Act) ballots 45 days prior to the general election. Early voting has begun in the Election Building on the eastside of the Ablany County Courthouse between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If an elector is interested in having a ballot mailed to them, call 721-2546. All absentee ballots must be received in the Albany County Clerk and Recorder’s Office by 7 p.m. on general election day Nov. 3 to be counted.
