Jeff came to Laramie after serving the last 15 years as a group publisher for numerous weekly publications across the state of Wyoming. Prior to his stint as publisher, he served as a general manager and editor for publications in Illinois. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BS in journalism and minors in physics and mathematics. Jeff and his wife, Deb, have two adult sons and are learning to adapt to an empty nest. Jeff enjoys sports and music, although he primarily does so from a spectator standpoint due to a lack of talent in these areas.\

Peter Baumann began writing stories and shooting photos for student publications at Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyo. After enrolling at Casper College, he dove into journalism head-first, and hasn’t looked back since. Baumann was hired as a reporter for the Boomerang in August 2008. He became an assistant editor in July 2013 before being named managing editor in May 2014. He has also worked for the University of Wyoming Branding Iron and the Douglas Budget in Douglas, Wyo., and has received awards for writing and photography from the Wyoming Press Association and the National Newspaper Association.

Dianne is a former military brat who came to Laramie in 1984. Dianne started working at the Boomerang in June 1990 as a proofreader in the advertising department. She was promoted to an advertising/customer service representative in 1992. Dianne moved to the business office in 1994 and, in 1996, became the business manager. Dianne lives with her husband, Bill, and they have a daughter, Heather.

Sara Haugen is a native Wyomingite and proud University of Wyoming alumna. She launched her career in Fort Collins, Colorado, as an advertising consultant with the North Forty News, and began working at the Boomerang in May 2011. She served as an advertising consultant for three years before moving into the ad director position in 2014. Her favorite thing about her job is having the opportunity to share in local clients' marketing successes. In her spare time, Sara can be found fly-fishing and taking photos of Laramie's many beautiful places with husband Corbin and pup Jon Skunk.

WyoSports editor Jeremiah Johnke is a lifelong Wyoming resident. He has been at the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in Cheyenne since graduating from the University of Wyoming in 2003. Johnke served as the WTE’s assistant sports editor from 2006 to 2010 and WyoSports assistant editor from 2010 to 2015. He has helped WyoSports win 21 Associated Press Sports Editors section awards since 2008 and claimed two APSE project writing awards himself. Johnke and his wife, Liz, have two children.

Eve has worked at the Boomerang as a copy editor and reporter since 2006, when she and her husband, Thomas, moved to Laramie from Fairbanks, Alaska. She enjoys running, gardening, Nordic skiing and other outdoor pursuits. She spends many afternoons at local playgrounds with her husband and two daughters, Lettie and June.

Nuria hails from Arcadia, California, a Los Angeles suburb populated by wild peacocks and television crews. She wrote her first news stories as a high school intern at her community paper and quickly developed a love for reporting. Nuria has since worked for multiple publications in California and the Midwest, including the Columbia Missourian, Jefferson City News-Tribune and Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 2014 with dual degrees in journalism and political science. In March 2015 Nuria joined the staff of the Laramie Boomerang, covering Albany County government, courts and schools. When she isn’t hunting for stories, she can be found playing guitar, hiking or embarking on cross-country road trips.

Kayla started at the Laramie Boomerang in October 2012. She comes to Laramie from Powell, where she attended Northwest College and was the editor of the campus newspaper, the Northwest Trail, as a freshman and sophomore. She intended to be a reporter but soon realized editing was her stronger suit. Kayla was named copy desk chief in June 2015. When not knocking heads at the Boomerang copy desk, Kayla enjoys baking, writing, hiking, a good road trip (long or short), adventures with her golden retriever Izzie and hunkering down to a good book, movie marathon or Netflix binge.

Justin Beckham was born in Roswell, New Mexico and lived most of his life in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He earned an English degree from New Mexico State University after completing an associate's degree in creative media from the community college. Moving to Laramie in 2012 to join his wife, Melinda, a student at UW, and his sons Robert and Felix, began working at the Laramie Boomerang that April. Since moving to Laramie, he enjoys climbing rocks at Vedauwoo and hosts a radio show for the local community access radio station. Mostly Justin loves the company of family and friends.

Jaron has worked for the Laramie Boomerang since September 2014. He graduated from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, where he studied journalism and worked as a copy editor for the Jacket Journal. Scott has been covering sports in southeast Wyoming and across the state for the better part of a decade. He started as sports editor for the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in 1998, and after a short stint away from the region, returned to Laramie in 2007. Scott has helped lead the Laramie Boomerang and WyoSports to the top University of Wyoming and high school coverage in the southeast part of the state. Scott has also been a part of numerous APSE national awards and Wyoming Press Association Pacemaker Awards. In his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with friends, mostly on the golf course.

David has been a journalist at the Laramie Boomerang/WyoSports since 2002. He started as a part-time sports writer, outdoor stories and features, Albany County Board of Commissioners coverage and general news stories and features. David then became a full-time sports writer in 2006. He has received two Wyoming Press Association Pacemaker Awards for first place in sports news (2012) and sports columns (2014). David is a graduate of Northwest College and the University of Wyoming. He also enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, camping, photography, golf and traveling.

Roland Vinson III was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He received his bachelor’s degree in arts with a concentration in graphic design from Wayne State University in Detroit. Roland has been a resident of Laramie since 2002, and he’s been designing advertisements at the Laramie Boomerang since January 2003. During that time, Roland has won numerous awards for ad design from the Wyoming Press Association. He finds working at the Boomerang a rewarding experience, getting a unique view into what makes Laramie a special place. Usually found near the “nerdier” events, Roland’s hobbies include watching off-beat movies and TV series.

Endemic to Laramie, Aaron received a Bachelors of Fine Art from the University of Wyoming and a bachelors degree in digital arts from Westwood College. He is an active artist in town, working with the UW Geology Museum as a sculptor to create works inspired by paleontology. Designing graphics for the Laramie Boomerang, he has found it to be a great experience where his work is seen by the community every day.

Mary moved to Laramie in 2012 with her husband (but, has lived in Wyoming most of her life.) She has 2 grown children and is enjoying the "empty nest" life. She earned 2 Assoc degrees as Central Wyoming College, one in Accounting and the other in Business Management. Mary loves the outdoors and to be in the country, enjoys gardening, raising chickens, riding ATVs, and quilting when she gets a chance. Currently all spare time is spent remodeling, finishing and improving her home.
