I write to enthusiastically compliment all those associated with the new Jacoby Ridge Rural Trail. What a gem! This kind of low-cost public amenity capitalizes on the access to natural settings and wide-open spaces that make Laramie such a great place to live, work, and raise our families. And what a fine example of the City of Laramie and the University of Wyoming working together for the benefit of our combined community of students, residents, professors, and business people.
For any of your readers not familiar with this project, it’s a 2+ mile loop trail easily accessed from the east end of Willett or Crow Drive. Under current planning, the Jacoby loop will integrate seamlessly with approximately 6 miles of trail being developed on the adjacent State Section, providing a well-designed trail system across 800 acres of native prairie for hiking, biking, bird-watching, wildlife photography, and generally enjoying Laramie’s natural setting.
