Three cheers for UW’s new Native American Education, Research, and Cultural Center and also for the fine dedication ceremony on Friday afternoon, September 29. It took a village to bring the Center into being, and it also took a relay team. One of the earliest advocates for such a center was Dr. Judith Antell, Professor Emerita and former director of UW’s American Indian Studies Program. She passed the baton to the current team, and the current team will pass it along to upcoming teams. The journey is always on-going. May the Center enrich the lives of Native American students, UW in general, and the entire state for decades to come. May Laramie folks take a minute to check out the facility. It’s an asset to us all.
