I want to thank Tom Schmit for my introduction to the 10 Communist Party planks adopted by America. Very interesting reading as Mr. Schmit implies that the Constitution enshrines Capitalism, but he offers no proof of that and in fact indicates that he has studied the Communist Manifesto more deeply than the Constitution of the United States of America. “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” General Welfare is known as Common Good and the founders passed laws based on that Constitutional principle. The Constitution uses the term General Welfare and not Capitalism for good reason as sometimes solutions for America are based on Capitalist ideas and some on the Common Good. Funding good public schools, establishing the US Mail, the public roadways are all part of the General Welfare of the people. In modern times this has included the establishment of Public Water and Wastewater systems to name a few more.
Now, one can argue that the Common Good goes too far and becomes a Targeted Good and this is where disagreements and bloated budgets occur. For instance, Public Schools are a Common Good, but due to Wyoming allowing people to live all over the State and then still requiring the State to educate these far flung students, makes funding these students a Targeted Good. The State of Wyoming could then decide to institute as zoning law where schools are only funded to certain limit around a defined area and base the law on the General Welfare, which maintains quality education at a reasonable price.
The Democrats are fighting against a foreign adversary that has helped install a President that does not believe in the Constitution of the United States and embraces the Ideals of Russia. In Russia there is no Second Amendment and they take ones guns without “due process.” President Trump proposed a very similar approach to gun control and yet you argue that Democrats are Communists?
