Robert Ferrara Hartung, 85, was born Sept. 15, 1931, to John and Estelle Hartung in Philadelphia. He passed on to the next life Feb. 27, 2017, at Swedish Hospital in Denver following a stroke and complications. His brother Albert was by his side when he passed.

Bob attended Glen-Nor High School in Glenolden, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. He also attended Princeton Seminary for two years. He loved to travel while working in the export/import business, which was his primary career. Following his retirement, he settled down in Jackson Hole for 20 years before moving to Laramie, where he resided for the past seven years. Throughout his lifetime, he was an avid outdoorsman, where skiing and playing polo were a big part of his life in Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and older brother John. He is survived by brother Albert and his wife Ann; sister-in-law Margaret; nephews John Jr., Wayne, David, Michael and John and their wives; and niece Laurie McGrand. His brother John’s wife Margaret’s children were also a big part of his life, as were many of his close friends and his adopted families in Wyoming and Texas.

Bob’s fascination with the beauty of the American bald eagle will be remembered always by his family. A memorial celebration of life will be at a later date in California.
